Recently, Vincent Wu, founder of Horizon Auto, visited China and made a special trip to tour BYD’s iconic manufacturing facility in Xi’an. As BYD’s very first vehicle production base and currently its largest in the world, the Xi’an factory boasts an annual production capacity of over 1 million vehicles.

What impressed visitors the most was the factory’s remarkable level of automation and intelligent manufacturing. From a single roll of steel entering the production line to a fully assembled new energy vehicle rolling off the line, the entire process takes only about 4 minutes and 30 seconds. This efficiency highlights BYD’s world-class expertise in manufacturing, technological integration, and lean management.

The Xi’an facility is responsible for producing several of BYD’s most popular and high-end models, including the Seagull, Dolphin, Seal U, and the luxury SUV YANGWANG U8. These vehicles serve a wide range of market segments, from urban commuting to off-road luxury.
